“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations …” (Matt 28:19). This was the calling that we have accepted from the moment we joined Couples for Christ. The call was apparent during our recent mission to the land of the pyramids. Not only did we see the places where the Holy Family took refuge, we also witnessed how the Lord touched the lives of the CLP participants during their dedication day.

"Preach the Gospel at all times, and when necessary use words." - Francis of Assisi. Of course, St Francis of Assisi did both and as I have discovered, it’s the same with CFC/ SFC. A 2nd century pagan convert to Christianity once wrote about the early Christians: “They love each other almost before they even meet.” This was my experience at our 17th SFC Middle East Regional Conference in Dubai/Ras Al Khaimah, too!

“Whatever happened to me, I remained with God and reconciled with Him.” I grew up having a happy childhood in a closely knit family. My parents taught me and my siblings how to pray religiously.I was a Legion of Mary and choir member. As a couple, we served as lectors and active Couples for Christ members for 21 years. With all of these foundations, I thought I have an unshakeable faith.

Egypt, famously known as the land of pharaohs, pyramids and mummies, but more importantly in the Christian tradition that of Moses, Aaron and the 10 Commandments in the Old Testament, and of the plight and hiding place of the Holy Family from King Herod in the New Testament. It is also the place where you will find Virgin Mary’s tree, the Hanging Church, the floating Bible, to name a few things of significance to the Coptic Catholic faith.
