February and March of 2014 were the months Romy Alfaro visited the UAE and Oman as the new Middle East Regional Coordinator. Bro Romy, a Civil Engineer by profession, is not a stranger in the region. He worked with SAE in Saudi Arabia from 1984 to 1987. As a former OFW, Bro Romy knows the restrictions in the profession of faith in the region as well as the difficult geographic and climatic conditions encountered by the community. He therefore gives these words of wisdom: "Be who you are. Be grateful and thankful always with what you have and what God is about to give you. Allow God to fulfill his purpose on you as part of His greater Plan to bring together everything in Heaven and on earth as one thru our Lord Jesus Christ." Bro Romy, who is also the UAE Country Coordinator and Philippine Regional Head of Central Luzon, joined CFC with wife Edith in June 1992 in Manuela, Las Pinas, which is known as Metro Manila South A Sector. They were married on September 17, 1983 in Manila and have four children who are mostly with the community. Thea is married to Mitch Garcia and they are serving in Kuala Lumpur as musicmin leaders in CFC-Malaysia. Norman and Regine are with SFC, the former is with South A, Las Pinas and the latter with CFC-Singapore where Regine is about to cross over to SFC. The youngest child is Rocky who is a 4th year Industrial Engineering student. Bro Romy is a contractor with his own company, Techtonne Industries, Inc., where his son Norman works. Sis Edit is working with Philtrust Bank. Asked how can you love more in your temporal and pastoral work, his answer: "Drenched your life with God's word and presence and enjoy the unlimited love that God is giving you. Then you are ready to love unconditionally God's people the same." By Art Los Banos, CFC-Dubai, UAE

As we usher in a year of “proclaiming the greatness of the Lord”, we, the community in the Middle East formally welcome into our growing family our new Couples for Christ Middle East Regional Coordinator, Jimmy Ilagan.

(in reference to the memo by Melo Villaroman, CFC Executive Director) “Proclaim the Greatness of the Lord!” is our community’s theme for the coming year, and we are very excited! It is the Holy Spirit’s gift, handed to CFC through the International Council retreat and planning last month. With his compelling command, based on the first verse of “The Magnificat”, the Spirit is drawing us even closer to the core of our calling: EVANGELIZATION – or everyday proclamation of Christ’s love in our word and action.

MANNIX OCAMPO: CONTINENTAL OVERSEER (West Asia: South, Central and Middle East) A few months back, members from the Couples for Christ International Council were assigned various International Mission areas as Continental Overseers. In reference to the memo by the International Council dated September 28, that through these appointments “it is our objective that the CFC vision, mission, life and culture are promoted, protected, strengthened, and sustained in all continents”. (a copy of this Memo was forwarded to your respective Country Heads upon its release)
