It was an enriching opportunity to have attended the CFC community Mass and Area CFC gathering at St. Mary’s Church, Dubai last April 11, 2015. A brother shared his experience at the prison. Considering the negative perception of becoming a prisoner in our culture, his arrival to the correctional jail turned his world into a gloomy and dark future. What do you call a four-weekend slug fest involving fun, fellowship and physical challenge? That’s what took place during the BCOP Cup, a four-week event successfully concluding on April 17, 2015.

The sports events — basketball, volleyball, darts and badminton – involved a dozen teams and hundreds of individuals. And more than 20 teams occupied most of the lanes at the Dubai International Bowling Centre on April 9. (more…)

The 14th CFC International Catholic Men’s Conference (SOLD ICON) was held last March 27-29, 2015, at the Crown Ballroom, Punta Villa Resort, Arevalo, Iloilo City. It was participated by more than 400 SOLD members and CFC men, some of whom brought their wives.

The conference mostly tackled about love as shepherds of families. 1. He Loved Us First; 2. Be Who You Are; 3. Tough Love; and 4. Love Conquers All which is also this year’s theme – Amor Vincit Omnia.

There were also some delegates from other countries, one each from Brunei and US, three from Canada and four from the UAE, of which two Dubai-based leaders have written the highlights as well as insights.

St Francis Church parishioners in Jebel Ali often see Filipinos cleaning the church every Tuesday evening.

Couples For Christ Jebel Ali members started this service in 2008.

Armed with ‘Walis Tambo’ or Philippine broom, rag, mop and pail of water, they faithfully come as a CFC unit or Family Ministry.

Tonight, April 7, was Handmaid of the Lord’s turn led by their chapter head Joy Boshoven.

“It is satisfying because you know that you are doing a service for the Lord and at the same time you are doing your part as a member of the parish and a community,” Boshoven said. (more…)
